Did you know that Portland International Airport has been consistently voted the best airport in our nation? PDX has 14 domestic and international airlines which fly to a combined 50 domestic and 7 international destinations. For the fifth year in a row, PDX takes the top spot due to its friendly atmosphere, local artwork, great shopping, and culinary offerings. One of the hottest shops include our very own InMotion with the latest and greatest gadgets designed to make traveling that much more comfortable.
Next summer, The Port of Portland announced that they plan to add Hopworks Urban Brewery and Deschutes Brewery to offer more refreshing options while travelers wait to board their fight. Hopworks is taking over Laurelwood Brewing’s Concourse E location while Deschutes will move into the Concourse D area that’s currently occupied by Rogue Ale’s. On top of great drinks, PDX represents hometown favorites in the restaurant selection such as The Country Cat, Petite Provence and the Flying Elephants Deli. After you’ve sipped on one of Portland’s finest beers and indulged in tasty food, stop in at InMotion to demo our PopSockets for a tighter grip of your smartphone at Gate D3 or across from Gate C1 if that’s closer!
This spring, PDX opened a 17-seat microcinema screening short films from Northwest filmmakers and hosting various live performances. The theater featuring free documentaries, music videos, animations, and short fiction is the perfect place to stop and relax before catching your connecting flight. Don’t let your phone die before catching your flight with your new Qmadix 4.8A Travel Kit with lightning cable!
If you’ve ever been to PDX, then you’re certainly familiar with the past and present quirky artwork surrounding the terminals. Fans of PDX’s former blue-green carpet took to social media to pay tribute to the infamous X pattern gracing the terminals that let any Portlander know they’re home. While the iconic carpet has been removed, you can still own carpet inspired by the unique design! Work of regional artists is also showcased in five different locations throughout the airport and local musicians often perform live to successfully entertain passengers. You can’t miss the enormous carved wooden cuckoo clock just past a security checkpoint. The largest freestanding cuckoo clock in the country is covered with Portland imagery and was carved with a chainsaw by an Oregon artist.
